I love Lebanese/Mediterranean food, and we stumbled on this place a few blocks from our hotel. So happy we did! It was daily clean considered it's in the heart of the city. The food seemed authentic and the service was great. The food was wonderful. The hummus was good, and I really enjoyed the falafels. The lamb shank was great and the chicken thighs and veggies were next level. I would definitely go back to this spot and highly recommend!

The waiters suggestion was very good, gave me so free tea at the end of the meal. I sat next to the owner and he talked to me a little, very polite and a surprisingly quiet street in new york. The citir kebab was delicious.

Great Mediterranean spot in Turtle Bay! The staff at Ali Baba are all incredibly sweet. Our waitress was so nice and the owner as well. The owner offered my friend and I Turkish tea post-meal, but unfortunately we were in a bit of a rush to indulge. Definitely will be back to try their dessert menu, it looked so good. The balloon bread was unique and delicate. They have no drinks menu, just soft drinks are offered. Perfect for me because I love a Diet Coke! My friend and I shared their fried calamari -- nice crispy exterior with flavorful seasoning. Very well made. The spicy curry chicken was savory and paired well with the fluffy rice. Will be back again!

What a charming place. I had an outstanding meal this evening. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in good hands with Alp. I started with a small shepherd salad. It was superb. Nicely diced tomatoes, cucumbers, strands of onion, and a touch of green pepper. The seasoned oil was perfect. I then thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb Adana. I lived in Adana, Turkey, for two years. This may have been the best I've had since then, there. The rice and tomato salad it comes with were great. And the thin little bread strips were unique and a super nice touch. I finished with rice pudding and Turkish coffee (orta...medium sugar). The coffee was strong and the rice pudding was delightful with its hints of cinnamon. I had a large bottle of sparkling water. Everything including tip came up to a bit more than $65. In Midtown, that alone is extraordinary.

Here's a rephrased version: We had a wonderful dining experience at Ali Baba last night! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We started with the delectable Muhuarama dip, followed by the flavorful Chicken Shish and the special Citir Kebab. The dip was bursting with flavor, and both entrees were cooked to perfection. I'm thrilled to have found a new favorite restaurant in Manhattan - highly recommended!

Came here for a very early dinner on a Sunday evening. It was quiet inside, only one other table, maybe two. The food was amazing. Lots of flavor and came out quickly. We had the side of vegetables, hummus, and lamb adana. The labneh is a nice touch. They don't have a full bar, just beer, wine, and soft drinks. The staff is nice and welcoming, it did seem there may have been a bit of a miscommunication or possible language barrier with the waitress about something we ordered, but it worked out totally fine. It was slightly warm inside, and the seats were a bit hard and uncomfortable. Overall, so glad I finally checked out this spot! Loved the lightning and ambiance.

Came here for dinner on a Friday evening. It was packed but service was pretty good outside of forgetting our salad that we ordered. We got a bunch of dishes to try and share including: -mixed mezze (all the dips are delicious especially the hummus!) -greek salad -3 orders of the bread (soooo hot and delicious) -fried liver (juicy and not dry at all) -pida with cheese and sausage (recommend to try turkish style pizza. It was cheesy and delicious) -mixed grill platter (came with a lamb chop, lamb kebab, chicken Adana, chicken skewer, beef Patty, rice, and some salad. Only one or two pieces of each so probably good for 1 person or 2 that aren't too hungry) -Adana kebab platter (meat was cooked perfectly and juicy) -special dish that had lamb mixed in a wrap with eggplant (never had anything like that. It was definitely an interesting dish) For dessert we got 2 orders of Baklava and Turkish Tea. If you are looking for good Turkish food in the city, this is the place to go! We devoured all our food so I didn't have time to take photos!

Came here Sunday afternoon for a lunch with large group of friends and the staff was so quick to accommodate every one of us even without a reservation. Although they're know for their Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine, there's a lot of great Italian dishes ranging from pasta to flatbread pizza that's really delicious! The spicy hummus was good to dip the house bread in, and the ali baba mixed grill with chicken and lamb kebabs were tender and flavorful! The pizzas use fresh ingredients and large ones are shareable among 2-3. The food was served quickly within 10-15 mins upon ordering. The staff were so attentive and friendly to us our entire time there. The interior design felt so festive and vibrant. All 6 of us left really full and had leftovers at the end. Highly recommend!
